Tabernacle Landscaping

I went to the Tabernacle this morning to find the landscaping virtually complete.  All the sod has been placed, and there are only a few bushes to plant and the landscaping should be done.  Someone at church today said they would take down the orange barriers tomorrow.  I hope they are right.

I think the temple and tabernacle will look a lot better when the barriers are removed.  Also, many folks don't know that the Tabernacle is open for tours, also.  The barriers keep visitors from entering in the West doors, but if you are interested, walk over to the Tabernacle and go in the side doors for a tour.  They would love to have you.

Open House from the Air

These photos were shot Thursday evening.  The buses are visible in some of the photos at the temple and also at the Autoliv parking lot.

The nearly completed landscaping at the Tabernacle is also visible.

Tabernacle Landscaping

As of Sunday, August 19th, the landscaping at the Tabernacle was as follows:

The sign has been recycled as shown here.
The North half of the project is complete.

I suspect the South half will be completed this week.
I really relish the thought of walking around the completed Tabernacle landscaping and admiring the temple.

Open House

The temple is marvelous inside.  After waiting almost 3 years for this day, I finally got to see the inside of the temple.  It is really fantastic.  The art work is very good; the individual pieces as well as the murals.  The colors, fabrics, furniture, ceilings, etc. are all very beautiful.  The stone work on the floors is equally impressive.

I know you will like it.  And, of course, the spirit is very peaceful.  The whole temple is an incredible addition to our community!  What a blessing to have the Lord's house in our midst.  How blessed we are because of this temple and the covenants we can make there.

Some Aerial Photos

The weather permitted a short flight this morning and out of 120 photos, these few turned were the best.

The work on the Tabernacle landscaping is really going fast.  Of course, there is only one week left until the open house starts.  The aerial views show the overall landscaping design.  I think it parallels well with the temple landscaping.  Enjoy!

Sunday Night

I suppose one day I might get tired of taking pictures of the temple, but not yet.  The sky and the sunset provided some great shots last Sunday night when my family and I went for a walk around the temple block.

We always see lots of friends and acquaintances doing the same thing, walking around the temple, enjoying the beauty and peace.

Just one more week until the open house starts!
